Doctoral HCI Researcher
I'm Laleh Nourian, an HCI researcher at the CAIR Lab, Rochester Institute of Technology, and a Research Fellow in the AWARE-AI NSF program.
As a qualitative and mixed-method researchers, I focus on User Experience, user-centered AI, and Accessibility research. My primary work centers around cross-cultural perspectives in accessible design and user-centered AI, with publications across top-tier HCI venues such as CHI, ASSETS, and TACCESS.
I led a workshop at ASSETS 2024, focusing on accessibility research strategies and challenges across the globe. In addition to my accessibility-focused research, I serve as a Research Fellow at the AWARE-AI NSF program, leading research on user-centered and responsible AI.
I love exploring user insights through an in-depth understanding of how people experience and design technology. My guiding philosophy is simple: if design is meant for all, then it should be created by all!
